About Area Light: Created = in July 2008 by Nascent Dynamics ( ), Area Light was created with the ambition of becoming the best social networking site on the internet. The platform is called Ning, a free web-hosted interface software that allows people to eas= ily create their own social networks. Ning is a new company that started in 2005 with the simple idea of empowering people to “create their own social networks” rather than “just being a member of another network s= uch as Myspace, Facebook, or Linkedin”. Now boasting about 1 million soci= al networks, the main challenge ahead is getting people to actually make the b= est use of the tools now in their hands. Many social networking projects get started with great excitement only to find an average active user-base of l= ess than 10 members. Many of these social networks become dead sites. That is w= here Area Light comes in. Our bright idea was to create a social network featuri= ng “better” social networking, an open door for people to network their own networks or sites, and an environment where people could explore = and play with social networking ideas. Area Light Explorer:= An Online Social Networking Magazine

Hello, my name is An= thony Reardon, and I like to refer to myself as the CEO/ Imagineer of Area Light.= My business is a work in progress, and I think you can tell that is no coincid= ence by the definitions I provide of the terms in my company Nascent Dynamics ( = ). Just go to my profile and you will see me starting to blog about my business…nearly a year after I created this network. Area Light has always been intended to be a place where everybody can enjoy going online; = and without the burden of solicitations even from my own personal business line= s. I built in some simple parameters- a vision- and then set myself about buildi= ng out the concepts and activities that could work to make this happen. One of= my ideas was Area Light Explorer, which was really influenced by internet phen= omena and media such as Internet Explorer and National Geographic Explorer. IR= 17;m just interested, for the benefit of research and development for my modern business consulting projects, in internet browsers and value added content. What is it that optimizes someone’s browsing experience that makes one browser or platform better than another? What kinds of concepts or ideas are out there that are really packaging what people want to find online in the = way they prefer to encounter it? Perhaps that is boring, but I think if you look around the internet, the most successful businesses are integrating social networking and intelligent search. If anything, I think that has to influen= ce the philosophy of any modern business looking to seriously compete in the m= odern environment. So I think anyone with even a surface level interest in online business would take an interest in some of the research and development I produce through Area Light.

This brings me to to= day where I am presenting my initial editorial on the Area Light Explorer Online Social Networking Magazine. The main point I suppose is the social network itself is the magazine. Anyone and everyone can be a part of producing it simply by joining and participating in the site. I am going to be producing= media about social networking, I am going to invite others to participate directl= y as producers of content and media on site, and I will facilitate and guide this project for the benefit of other members…the Area Light Explorer audience. In my business, I recognize a specific niche you have to cater to= in casual internet explorers. So when you are building a social network, you h= ave to put these things in mind. What is it about your content and media that appeals to those casual passers by? I can see you wouldn’t want to be= to general in posting popular content, because that is already kind of old, an= d if you engage people in something that doesn’t even interest you, then y= our time online is going to suck anyway. On the other hand, if you have essenti= ally an open forum for people to represent their own personal interests, and you share your interests and preferences with others you network with, then you’d be surprised just the awesome stuff you will find online from j= ust what your friends share. So the activity as a whole is really organic in nature. I’ll produce this site as a magazine, and as I see people com= ing online with the idea, I’m going to open the magazine project to them completely free of charge. Keep your eye on me and you will see all kinds o= f projects like this!

Area Light Explorer Blogs: An Online Social Networking Weblog Base-Camp

If you look into the Area Light Member Services profile you = will find the Area Light Explorer blog that covers the project. One of the thing= s we are going to encourage members of Area Light to do is create their own Area Light Explorer blogs. As the editor, I reserve my channel right here in this magazine cover, but I also participate directly in the Member Services blog= . I think out loud about this project which is still a work in progress. I also= try to get down targets I have in mind to explore. I will personally read any b= log posts within the Area Light Explorer theme, and include segments I think a = good fit here on the Area Light Explorer post in. So there is a free and easy wa= y to become part of a magazine right while it is still forming.

Area Light Social Networking Experience Blogs: An Introspective Social Network

When it comes to modern research and development, nothing co= uld be better than voluntary member/ user feedback. This is just as important f= or one on one personal interaction too. It’s a relationship enhancement = tool and part of what we mean by “better” social networking. We also encourage members to publish these personal journals of their experience networking on Area Light, because this then becomes a feature of Area Light Explorer. What better way to come up with content other social networkers a= re going to be interested in than sharing your views of the pro’s and con’s in the environments you participate in. We hope to make Area Li= ght Personal Social Networking Services known for helping people to optimize th= eir online experiences. So if we are any good at that then the feedback will al= so benefit us in promoting testimonials through our magazine, lol!<= /span>

Area Light Explorer Social Networking Themes: Personal, Professio= nal, Organizational, Geographic, and Area Light Explorer reviews.

Area Light as a social network focuses on these main categor= ies of networking, whether on a personal level, talking about work resources, building social networks on Ning, or simply getting out to network in perso= n. So these will be areas of interest we look to be competitive in and become known for. However, some of the best insights about anything pertaining to social networking will come from the unconstrained perspectives of people summing up what they encounter and how it relates to them. So as Area Light Explorer covers our own network and the world around us, we try to break it down on some logical themes, but also take a moment to view things from the perspectives of those producing content, media, and social networks. We actually consider this process as somewhat of a service to those “explorations”, but particularly for the benefit of our end-user navigation and providing services customizable to their social networking preferences.

Area Light Open Foru= m: Just do it!

You should see we really have no constraints built into the = Area Light Open Forum. This is where people can really step up and produce essentially whatever content or media they think is interesting enough to share. As far as research and development into social networking, having so= me constructive themes and organization is good, but everybody will often have their own unique configurations if interests and subject matter to promote anyway. We plan on featuring articles and posts that would be appealing to = the social networking audience, so another free and easy way to become part of = the Area Light Explorer Online social Networking Magazine. Forums can become ho= t, so we expect the Area Light Open Forum to be one of the best discussion are= as for social networkers on the internet. We’ll just have to see how that goes!

Area Light Explorer Groups: An Area Light Explorer Segment Chann= el

On Area Light, we have created a group for Area Light Explor= er. There we present the project as a group portal for exploring other social networks, sites, and people. We have a segment we started called Area Light Explores, where I have served as the guest editor doing reviews, and then posting them on a continuous thread. The neat thing about this is we set up profiles and groups on other sites and RSS feed the group’s discussio= ns out to those sites. Anyone can become a contributor with their own channel, such as Pierre Explores. These too will find their way through our RSS feed= out of Area Light. We are also modifying the group discussion concept to allow = for essentially an open forum for exploration by topic. If you do a lot of explorations like we expect to, then the Area Light Explores segment is a g= ood example of a tool you can use to summarize and link all those activities. We may note discussions of interest we see onto this Area Light Explorer Post = in, because anyone who is actually making an effort to deliver some value for t= heir writing should be appreciated by other members.

Modern Business Exploration: A Modified Extension of Area Light Explorer

Sometimes, I prefer to keep myself out of the picture on Area Light Explorer outreach profiles and groups. However, there are occasional networks where I find it is to my preference to be myself, or at least my b= rand name of Nascent Dynamics ( ). Modern Business Exploration is one example of= a group I set up to feature comprehensive social networking explorations into other people. We may find a place to RSS feed those discussions back into A= rea Light, but we don’t have to since we can post information about those segments on this cover page for the magazine! We may set up Area Light Expl= orer groups offsite, and this is something that we would work with others to do = if they wanted us on their networks. If we put roots down in some network, then chances are the Area Light membership is going to have a window into those networks, and we will be exploring the people on those networks. Part of the benefit in this has to be networking across sites without having to join and navigate around between sites. So there is another good reason to show a serious consideration for what other people are trying to do with their soc= ial networks. If Area Light Explorer can facilitate everyone being on the same = page figuratively, and on whatever pages they prefer literally, then there will = be a substantive value to having this social networking magazine on site for everyone involved.

The Next Big Ning: Nascent Dynamics ( ) Explores Ning Social Networking<= /o:p>

Well I have to say my approach to social networking derives = from my inspiration and vision to do business. So when I found Ning, and realized they were going to empower me to create my own social network, I started my development at the same time I started looking closely at the Ning applicat= ion, Ning the company, Ning the social networking community, Ning the creator community, Ning the developer community. All of these I explore with some thirst to use what I find to help make Area Light the best social network in the world! On Area Light Explorer the group, you see an RSS feed from the N= ing blog. I think it is fantastic in connecting me to everything Ning, and they= do their own version of site explorations and reviews. So it is the perfect po= rtal to so many other Ning social networks. I decided for Area Light Explorer, a= blog introducing other social networks like that would be the perfect stimulant = for the type of explorations we are going to be doing. As far as The Next Big N= ing, you can start to see how Area Light is a social networking magazine in itse= lf, because you can see members create groups to talk about and engage on their social networking interests. In that respect, I qualify as an Area Light Explorer just by being a proactive member interested in social networking. =

So thanks for checki= ng out my work on Area Light Explorer. I think we might like to release late J= uly or early August to celebrate Area Light’s one year anniversary. We are still in BETA development mode, but I don’t see any reason we canR= 17;t run that research and development into some added value media! We’re looking for contributors!
